Tessa Seitzinger

Tessa Seitzinger lives in Bayou L’Ourse, Louisiana with her husband of 16 years. She grew up in central Pennsylvania and joined the military after high school. Tessa is a Disabled Coast Guard Veteran. She served 14 years active duty in the Coast Guard and an additional 4 years as an active reservist with Port Security Unit 308. During her time as an enlisted member in the Coast Guard, she worked as a small boat crewmember conducting law enforcement boarding’s and search and rescue operations.

Tessa attended “A” school in Petaluma, CA, where she graduated as a Telecommunications Specialist. She attended Officer Candidate School in 2000 obtaining her commission as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. Tessa served as the Chief of Prevention Officer at Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles prior to her honorable discharge.

Tessa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from American Military University. She has worked for Canal Barge Company, Hercules Offshore, Noble Drilling and Talen’s Marine & Fuel. Tessa received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Loyola College of Law New Orleans in December 2019. She served as a member of Loyola Maritime Law Journal and Loyola Maritime Law Society. She has two grown daughters who live in Galveston, Texas. Her youngest, son, 16, is a Junior at Central Catholic High School in Morgan City.
